Nearly 9,000 pets have found homes through EMPTY THE SHELTERS in the last 17 months. Here are a few who found forever homes during our most recent events. Make tails wag at your home by adopting at BPF’s next ETS on October 14!
Black Lab Puppies rescued from Houston after Harvey were recently adopted during EMPTY THE SHELTERS Hurricane Relief. Little Traverse Bay Humane Society in Michigan received a transport with a litter of puppies left in a backyard and never claimed after the storm. These poor babies waited as the waters around them rose, hoping for a hero to save them, but help came too late for four of the nine. Thankfully, rescue crews jumped into action to care for the remaining five who are getting a second chance in loving, forever homes.
Toby was a resident at Lexington Humane Society in Kentucky for 3 months and struggled to find his forever family. He is extremely picky around people and pets, especially adult men. Thanks to EMPTY THE SHELTERS, Toby met the family of his dreams who took him home for a lifetime of snuggles. Here he is with his new main man!
Rudy was the last adoption of the day at Last Hope Rescue during EMPTY THE SHELTERS in New York, and there wasn’t a dry eye to be found! He had come to the rescue 9 months earlier with a leg injury that required amputation and he deserved a special family to take him home. That family came during a recent BPF event and they are “over the moon” about Rudy, and the feelings are mutual!
