100% Saves Pets
In partnership with shelters across the country and by providing much-needed resources to underserved communities, BISSELL Pet Foundation is reducing the number of animals in shelters and rescues through our pet adoption, transport, spay/neuter, vaccination, microchipping, and crisis and disaster response programs. 100% of every donation directly impacts pets in need.
As a hands-on foundation, we are committed to understanding the needs of different geographic areas, knowing our partners, and working together to create the best possible outcomes through grant funding for programs and initiatives that directly impact homeless pets.
While many people think that having a company like BISSELL Inc. behind us means we can respond to every request, call or emergency, the need is greater than one company, one family or one person. The demand for BISSELL Pet Foundation’s lifesaving programs consistently outpaces our funding. That’s why we need your support. BISSELL Inc. absorbs BISSELL Pet Foundation’s administration fees, allowing 100% of every donation to save pets in need.
BISSELL Pet Foundation creates lifesaving programs and initiatives to address the pet overpopulation crisis in all 50 states. Our pet adoption, spay/neuter, microchip, and crisis and disaster programs are reducing the number of pets in shelters and rescues.
Through BISSELL Pet Foundation's transport program, countless animals at Companion Animal Alliance were given a second chance. A chance they may have not gotten without our valuable partnership. Not only do they care about the animals, they care about the organization and the dedicated people involved. They are truly making a difference for the pets and people in Louisiana and across the South. ”
Jillian Sergio, Executive Director, Companion Animal Alliance, LA
BISSELL Pet Foundation is an amazing partner who sees the importance of spay and neuter in our community. We are grateful to BPF for their investment in Harbor Humane and West Michigan. Thanks to BPF we were able to fix hundreds of community animals in the past year, which in turn helps us to be able to manage our population a bit better in the shelter. Knowing that we will NOT see all these cats and dogs having unwanted litters is a relief for all of us! ”
Jen Self-Aulgur, Executive Director, Harbor Humane Society, MI
Our team always looks forward to participating in the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters events. The events offer opportunities for our pets to find new homes and for our organization to help more pets by opening up kennel space. The event also offers the staff an opportunity to celebrate all the pet adoptions! Our shelter is always full and this is a great opportunity for the staff to see the rewards of all their hard work! ”
Jorge Ortega, Executive Director, Guilford County Animal Shelter, NC
When it comes to BISSELL Pet Foundation, every animal matters. This is apparent with their Transport program as BPF works so hard to match up receiving/sending shelters whose missions align. Not only are we thankful for these lifesaving transports for our pets, because every animal matters to us as well, but we are forever grateful for the connections that we’ve made with our receiving shelters up North. Everyone wins! ”
Shelley Delahoussaye, Shelter Manager, Lafayette Animal Care Center, LA
Through the partnership with BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters Program, the Greater Birmingham Humane Society experiences the profound impact of compassion in action. It’s more than just emptying animal shelters; it’s about filling homes with love and giving these special pets a chance for a better life. Together, we are able to ensure that people who are lonely, or in need of unconditional love, can find the one companion that is forever faithful, and will never leave your side.”
Allison Cornelious, Executive Director, Greater Birmingham Humane Society, AL
When the Lahaina wildfires devastated our island, we knew that thousands of animals were injured and missing. Our organization needed to act quickly when immediately tasked with animal search and rescue efforts. We were up for the challenge but lacked the critical experience and knowledge to deal with an event of this magnitude. BISSELL Pet Foundation's Animal Incident Management (AIM) team came to our rescue, led by Eric Thompson. Eric's expert leadership of our organization's emergency response was essential to our overall success. From setting up an ICS, representing us at the Emergency Operations Center, attending FEMA and County meetings on our behalf, liaising with government agencies and officials, negotiating burn zone access privileges, bringing in national experts to join our team, and overseeing all search and rescue efforts, Eric did it all with a positive attitude and a deep respect for the Hawaiian culture. I extend my gratitude on behalf of our entire community and will be forever thankful to BISSELL Pet Foundation and AIM. ”
Dr. Lisa Labrecque, Executive Director, Maui Humane Society, HI
We are a small municipality that took on 5x more dogs than our facility can house with zero notice. BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Animal Incident Management Program stepped up to help us ensure more than half of the dogs were transferred to compassionate facilities throughout the Midwest. With their help, we were able to move the dogs quickly and safely, which eased the emotional and physical burden our staff, volunteers, and the animals that had already been in our care. It takes a village and we are so grateful to have BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Animal Incident Management Program be part of ours! ”
Devon Strief, Animal Services Officer, Iowa City Animal Shelter, IA
We have been receiving assistance from BISSELL Pet Foundation for 2 years now for spay/neuter. This assistance is vital for our community. We have no vets on staff and having BISSELL Pet Foundation vets come down and perform surgeries has been instrumental to our adoption and transport success. We value and appreciate all of the assistance from BISSELL Pet Foundation.”
Faith Wright, Director of Operations, Palm Valley Animal Shelter, TX
